CSI & Volunteerism

Our corporate social investment (CSI) projects are a natural extension of the people who direct and work at iFACTORY.  We play an active part in the community through both financial donations and more importantly, participation.  Below are a few of the initiatives that we support.

Potters House
At Potters House, our aim is to up-skill and secure jobs for disadvantaged and unemployed adults in Chiawelo Soweto.  The training program consists of training woman in graphics design and photo editing.

Auckland Park
Auckland Park Primary school and iFACTORY team up to give the next generation access on Saturday mornings to the computer centre and school facilities.  This proves a cultural and sporting foundation to disadvantaged kids who come from the Salvazione School in the Joe Slovo informal settlement.

Insonge School
At the Insonge School, we assist in helping the very young in one of our poorest areas in South Africa, the Hlatikulu Valley in the uThukela district.

Wiggles & Squiggles
Wiggles & Squiggles School is a non-profit organization that provides a specialized, stimulating and caring environment for 34 children between the ages of 2 and 13, who have a variety of special needs ranging from Cerebral Palsy, Autism, various syndromes and multi-sensory impairments, as well as those without a diagnosis.

They offer children a nurturing educational environment, with specialized input to enable them to grow and develop at their own pace. Their aim to ensure that each and every child is happy, settled and enjoys coming to and being at school.

A multi-disciplinary team of teachers and therapists work together in the classroom, Therapy room and / or in the Sensory / Snoezelen room, and share their commitment and passion for the children.

Banarto Park School
Banarto Park High School serves the inner city community.  Majority of the students are black Africans coming from the inner city with a small percentage travelling from Soweto and Alexander.  The school is educating disadvantaged kids, giving them the opportunities to grow into the young talent of tomorrow.

In addition to the above CSI’s, iFACTORY has a number of employees who focus on their own initiatives to help the community develop through adult education on the weekend through to funding individual education.

Fred & Martie’s Soup Kitchen
in Claremont is a registered nonprofit organization and has been in operation for 33 years. They make a huge difference in little and elderly people’s lives. Their aim is to provide children with a nutritional meal and at the same time create a sense of care and upliftment, giving them hope and courage to rise up out of their current circumstances. They also provide food parcels to 150 elderly folk and feed and additional 70 children from a nearby High School in the community. iFACTORY contributes a monthly amount to them.

Sixty Towing Services

Currently he has one paid up and fully equipped light duty towing motor that is sub-contracted. This contract expires in May this year. At the moment he is struggling to refurbish a second vehicle to make chances of getting a contract renewal better. iFACTORY contributed to the refurbishment.
